Welcome to the Blog

Hello,

Welcome to my blog. I have set this blog up in the hope of dragging myself into to the unknown world of digital journalism.

My name is Bethany Taylor and I am training as a newspaper journalist at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston.

With this blog I will look at issues of education in Preston, specifically within the council ward of College.

I am just finding my feet in this forum, so be gentle.

Any information, comments, advice you can give me about this area will be welcomed with open arms.

Thank you.... Enjoy!

Hello Beth! I am also findin my way in the wonderful world of digital journalism. Don't worry, I'm scared too!

I definitely think that scout leaders should educate their members about sex. It is absolutely not a taboo or inappropriate subject, it is the most natural thing in the world and the reason we're all here!

It annoys me that some people say 'Oh, but it will encourage sexual intercourse early'. Why? Surely cloaking it in secrecy and forbidden territory kind of allure is making it far more appealing?

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing and leads to young boys (and girls) thinking theyre fully equipped to become sexually active, when actually they haven't got their facts right. Tell them of the risks/facts from day one, that's what I say. I'd certainly be happy for my children to receive supervised sex education from as early as four years old.

What does everyone else think?
